2026-10-24 edition

Good morning. It is Saturday, October 24, and the industry has been busy in the way that generates headlines rather than revenue.

On the docket this morning — Model Releases: Moonshot AI released Kimi K3.1 Pro; Agents: Anthropic targeted Muse and Dots with a new agentic product; Harnesses & Tooling: llama.cpp merged a pull request. And rather more that we could not fit.

Starting with releases, where everyone shipped something and nobody shipped documentation.

Moonshot AI released Kimi K3.1 Pro, a 2.8 trillion total 104 billion active sparse mixture-of-experts model with a 1 million-token context window. The benchmarks are, as always, self-reported and enthusiastic.

Kimi K3.1 Pro scores 55 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, an 11-point jump that puts it within striking distance of Claude Opus 5.5. Another context window longer than anyone's actual reading list.

To agents,
